Cleaning Tips II

Well let's jump right in and continue our quest for "cleaning tips"

We left off on #5 "Don't rinse or wipe a surface before it's clean. Now lets talk about what's next.

6. Don't keep working after it's clean.....Once it's clean, stop! Your wasting time, rinse or wipe and move on.

7. Shift to a heavier tool.....After awhile your going to know what tool to use and which one not to. If what your using isn't working then switch, but don't try everything first, that will waste your time. Learn to anticipate what to use so you won't need to keep changing.

8. Keep your tools in good shape.....There isn't anything more frustrating than having a clogged spray bottle or a dull razor blade when you need them.

9. Repetition makes for smoother moves.....have you ever fumbled around looking for something that wasn't put back where it belonged? If you are wearing an cleaning apron like the pros do then put everything back in the same plce everytime. If you are reaching for your tile and grout brush or your razor scraper then you know where to find it...........no more wasted time.

10. Pay attention........almost everything will fall into place if you are not thinking about your vacation coming up or the argument you have with your spouse this morning.

11. Use both hands to clean........this seems to be easy for those that talk with their hands but I can't tell you how much time this can save you. Why would you want to have one hand idle while the other one does all the work. Finish one step with one hand and start the next with the other or wipe with one hand while the other one holds the object in place preventing it from falling down.

12. If you are fortunate enough to have someone helping you, work as a team......not much to explain about this one. If your partner is on a mission to complete the job then you will be motivated to work together. But don't get caught up in talking too much or nothing will get done.

OK, enough said. Just like anything else it will take time to adjust to these rules but practice makes perfect, repetition makes smoother moves and the payoff will be worth it.
